Description

The Corporate Social Responsibility Society at Durham University is an all inclusive multifaceted society that encourages people from all degree programmes to join in understanding the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility, which is becoming of growing importance when it comes to building a sustainable future. This society focuses on providing a space to truly be able to use the skills and knowledge learnt in all current degree programmes and apply it to real-world issues and case-studies that are faced in the world of business, investments, finance and many other industries. The society will provide a unique experience for all members to help discover different perspectives and investigate how we can help drive social, economic and environmental changes through enterprises and society as a whole.

The aims of this society include:
1. To educate people who are interested in CSR principles by holding socratic seminars and inviting guest speakers to talk about their experiences giving insight into real life CSR practices.
2. To hold discussions over case studies of real-life businesses and recommended books, allowing students to express their opinions and perspectives.
3. To communicate with startups and local businesses to help improve their CSR model within their company (involvement of volunteering our services that we will be developing over the course of the year to enterprises).
4. To create an inclusive environment for interdisciplinary skills to be developed by the involvement of people from all degrees.
