Seun Twins
President She/her

A bit about me...

I'm Seun Twins, originally from North West London and before you ask, no I am not a twin, lol. I love country music, black feminist scholarship, my weighted blanket and most importantly sleep.

My favourite thing about Durham is the independence it offers you. With the distance and the seclusion, Durham allows you to confront yourself, your studies and your aspirations. What is nice about the Durham experience is that it is truly what you make of it. You can choose to focus on personal development, your degree and your social life, all on your own terms. Curating your own university experience means that you will always get the most out of your time here.

In my spare time, I love to listen to podcasts about world politics, feminism or race relations; discuss world politics, feminism or race relations (with anyone who will listen); or just generally obsess over anything world politics, feminism or race relations. If you ever see me walking around or dozing off in a zoom call, I will probably be thinking about one of these three topics or all them at the same.

To me, being President is about being a visible and accessible point of contact. That is how we, as Student Officers, can represent and promote student interests. Being the President of the Students’ Union is fundamentally about being reliable and approachable, but above all embodying and uplifting the democratic values of the institution.
