Philosophy is a very intensive, and sometimes intense, degree. It can also be pretty intimidating, sharing your deepest thoughts with strangers who are literally there to disagree with you is bound to be.
The point of philsoc is to make your 9AM tutorial a more fun experience. Afterall, who’s going to be scared to share their ideas in front of six people that you were out clubbing with the night before.
Or, if clubbing isn’t your thing, you can hone your debating skills in a much more relaxed and social setting. Talking about things that are a lot less monolithic than Hegel or Aristotle. Because we all like philosophy, but the philosophers should come first.
