Durham University Irish Society will be committed and devoted to all things related to those with Irish heritage, encompassing students from all of the island of Ireland. Like many international societies, DUIS will provide a calling point and comfort zone for those Irish students in Durham to not only meet other Irish students, but also to provide gatherings that will make any Irish person feel at home. Whether it be pub crawls, traditional Irish music sessions, Irish dancing taster sessions, GAA sessions, Irish family meals (i.e. gathering up members of the society to a particular house and cooking some traditional Irish food) and an annual St. Patrick's Day Party, this is not just for Irish people or for anyone with Irish heritage, but for anyone who wants to feel the warmth and friendliness of the Irish at Durham.
