Engineers Without Borders

Description

We are the Durham Branch of an international development organisation that aids development around the world through engineering.

Supported by the EWB-UK community, our members have the opportunity to work on projects abroad and also attend seminars in the UK. As well as this within Durham University we co-ordinate projects, talks from outside speakers and outreach events in local schools. An example of one of our current projects is a bike powered generator which we hope to place on the science site once it is completed.

We aim:

- To spread awareness of development engineering and all technical aspects of sustainable development.
- To provide an outreach program for local schools and encourage involvement in engineering and science from a development perspective.
- To facilitate a link between EWB-UK and the students of Durham university in order to promote research and training opportunities in Durham and further afield.
