Description

Durham University Anthropology Society (AnthSoc) is a student-led group run by and for enthusiasts of the subject. The society strives to provoke thought and interaction regarding all aspects of human science, society, culture and biology, beyond the department, within the wider circle of our university, and even nationally with other universities. This is achieved through various activities organized by the society, such as casual and formal social events, lectures, seminar series, etc. In addition, we are here for any questions or comments students have about the course and Anthropology as a whole.

Our aims are to bring anthropology students together in order to create a strong community atmosphere within the anthropology department. This year, we will aim to really put the anthropology society on the map by focussing on promotion and hosting regular events. We will host a wide range of events in order to be inclusive to the whole cohort of students within the department. One of our key aims is to host a ball again, as it was really successful this academic year.
