800 editions in an incredible achievement so we wanted to say a huge thank you to all former editors or anybody who has written or even read Palatinate.

There have been an extra 176 Palatinates  than episodes of the Simpsons – one of the longest running TV shows in history.

The first edition is closer to the invention of the light bulb than it is to the than the present day.

Notable former editors include George Alagiah and Jeremy Vine

Palatinate have interview many important people. Since December 2014, journalists from the newspaper have interviewed people such as Natalie Bennett, The Ting Tings, David Blunkett, Edwina Currie, Moazzam Begg, Owen Jones, Esther Rantzen and Norman Baker.

Palatinate has not always been free – in the past it used to cost up to a pound.

Palatinate first launched on 13 March 1948 – which was 15 days before former US Vice-President Al Gore was born..

We're sure there's many milestones we've missed and they'll be many more to come!

Here's to the next 800!
