Archaeology Society - Dunstanburgh

For the first trip of Easter Term, we're headed to Dunstanburgh Castle on the iconic Northumberland coast, a 14th-century fortress guarding the frontier with Scotland.

Tickets will be £15 for members and £20 for non-members - please don't buy a ticket unless you have been emailed the link to this event!

We will be taking the 7:58am train from Durham to Alnmouth (changing at Newcastle), and then the bus from Alnmouth to the postcard-perfect village of Craster, which also has a good few historic sites worth looking at.

If we have time we could stop by Howick Hall & Arboretum (the birthplace of Earl Grey tea!) and the Iron Age hillfort next to Craster.

For getting back to Durham, we'll take the 18:00pm train from Alnmouth and change at Newcastle - if anyone needs to be back sooner let me know.

Any questions, please let me hear about it at archie.robson@durham.ac.uk.
