I’m Meg, a former Welfare and Liberation Officer at Durham SU and one of two external commissioners.
From an external perspective, and reflecting on my own time in Durham, it’s undeniable that there are very real, extremely pervasive issues with Durham’s culture. But this isn’t about me or any one individual. Rather, this is about hearing from the collective voice of Durham students, and putting that voice at the very heart of the conversation. We have a fantastic opportunity here to listen and reflect upon the very real impact that Durham’s culture is having on its students and learn together about where we need to go, and how (and I'm really excited to be a part of it!).
