Tell students about yourself
I’m Caroline, a combined honours in social sciences student and a member of Grey college. I am part of societies and spaces that care about community and representation. I love getting involved in events where students can connect and learn from each other.
If elected, what sort of Officer can students expect you be?
I will be proactive. I am a strong communicator with strong interpersonal skills. I am confident that I will be able to represent students in meetings and be able to deliver results . I will focus on building on the strengths of networks. As well as that, interconnection between community groups to increase participation and create a more unified student experience.
Why is this role important to you?
The role is important to me because I know the impact that a strong strategy towards inclusivity has on students. I am passionate about making sure networks are interlinked. I think working together will create a more equitable and supportive environment. I want to tackle big issues holding students back and ensure that university is accessible to all students. Make sure students are aware of what is available to them and be confident to use services at university to better their education and experience.
What is your pitch to students?
I am running for liberation officer and I am up for the challenge to tackle any of the big issues that could come my way as an officer. I am ready to be fully involved and committed to the student community at Durham especially those from underrepresented backgrounds. Vote for Connection. Communication. Community. Vote for Caroline!
