Candidate Profile

Tell students about yourself

I am a PhD student at Durham University with a background in music psychology and music technology. My research focuses on music cognition, technology, and the experiences of neurodivergent musicians, particularly adults with ADHD. I explore how music interfaces can support learning and creativity. Outside academia, I enjoy music production and attending live performances.

If elected, what sort of Officer can students expect you be?

If elected, I will be an approachable and proactive Officer who listens to students’ experiences and priorities, ensuring their voices shape decisions. I aim to foster inclusive participation, creating opportunities for collaboration across diverse student groups. My background in research and project management equips me to analyse issues carefully, propose practical solutions, and communicate clearly. I am committed to transparency, responsiveness, and advocating for student needs while encouraging engagement in decision-making. Students can expect an Officer who combines enthusiasm, organisation, and empathy to make positive, meaningful change across the university community.

Why is this role important to you?

This role is important to me because I believe that all students should have an equal voice in shaping their learning and campus experience. I care deeply about inclusivity, accessibility, and creating an environment where diverse perspectives are valued and acted upon. I want to see positive changes in how student needs are represented, from improving access to resources and support services to fostering engagement in decision-making processes. Having worked closely with student communities and research groups, I understand the value of listening carefully, translating feedback into action, and building bridges between students and decision-makers. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact, ensuring that student concerns are heard, solutions are practical, and participation is meaningful. I am passionate about empowering others, promoting fairness, and leaving the university experience better for all students.

What is your pitch to students?

I’m running to ensure every student’s voice is heard. I’m passionate about inclusivity, accessibility, and creating opportunities for meaningful engagement. My goal is to improve resources, support, and decision-making for all students. Together, we can make our university experience better. “Your Voice, Your Change.”
