Tell students about yourself
Here are some fun facts:
> I once submitted coursework 2 months early.
> Physics student at Castle.
> I like board games and cycling.
> Je parle français (partiellement).
> I once went to a vegan summer camp without realising it until the day.
> I get into the library most days at 8am.
> I tend to do things really fast.
And I’m running on: student careers, housing and efficiency.
If elected, what sort of Officer can students expect you be?
An efficient one. My style is to try everything, everywhere, all at once.
I always have several active projects (currently a community project, fundraising, running four student groups, a campaign and studies). I still submit work early.
My plan is to try many approaches at once to make a dent in Durham’s housing issues, and improve student employability.
Ready. Get set. Go.
Why is this role important to you?
Would you like an honest answer? Because it seems like the coolest graduate job.
I used to wonder if I should go into engineering, move towards finance, or maybe even teach.
But there’s one thing these careers all miss- they will never really improve the world- just keep it how it is.
Then there's being an officer- a chance to make big plans, launch campaigns and have an impact on students. This can make the world slightly better. And to me, it sounds genuinely fun.
So, if elected, I'll take my enthusiasm, and turn it into change.
If elected, I would:
What is your pitch to students?
Careers- because they matter.
Housing- because it remains an issue.
I’ll work on both, and more, as efficiently as I can, making bold plans then throwing them into action.
I’ll be an officer who does things.
