Tell students about yourself
I’m a first-year Modern Languages and Cultures student (German and Spanish), with a passion for language learning and cultural exchange. I’m Events Manager and Treasurer of St Aidan’s Wardrobe Society, and I’ll be a Senior Events Frep next year. I’m actively involved in student representation as a Hispanic Studies Student Voice Rep, and I’m passionate about creating inclusive, well-organised events and meaningful change.
If elected, what sort of Officer can students expect you be?
If elected, you can expect me to be proactive, approachable and solution-oriented. I will actively engage with students across the Faculty to ensure their voices are heard and represented. I believe meaningful change comes from listening carefully, communicating transparently, and working constructively with staff. I want to bridge the gap between students and decision-makers, ensuring concerns are followed up with action. My experience in organising large-scale fundraising events and working as a Student Voice Rep has equipped me with the organisation, resilience and teamwork skills needed to represent students effectively and proactively.
Why is this role important to you?
This role is important to me because I truly believe student voices make a real difference. As a Hispanic Studies Student Voice Rep, I’ve seen how constructive feedback can lead to real improvements in teaching, communication and academic support. I want to ensure that all Arts and Humanities students feel valued, visible and listened to within the wider University.
I want our Faculty to feel recognised and respected, and for students to feel confident in the value of their degrees. Alongside academic representation, I’ve organised and led large fundraising events raising over £6,000 for various charities, which reflects my commitment to turning ideas into action. I want to use this role to strengthen academic experience and engagement across the Faculty.
What is your pitch to students?
Vote for me if you want an open, organised and dedicated representive for Arts and Humanities. I will listen, act and advocate, increasing Faculty visibility, and ensuring your academic experience is valued and improved.
