Support over the holidays

Meg

I hope that everyone’s term has gone relatively smoothly and that you all take the time to be proud of everything you’ve achieved this year, whether that’s academically or just settling into a new environment.

As we enter into the holiday period, I think it’s really important to remember that this can be a challenging time for many people and for various reasons. Whether that’s because you’re estranged from your family; find the volume of food overwhelming; are struggling with your mental health; or just going through a difficult time.

If you’re finding things difficult, remember that there’s absolutely no pressure to feel happy all the time, even at Christmas. And if you have a friend who you think might be finding the break tough, I’m sure checking in with them would mean a lot.

I’ve found some resources below that provide some useful support for this time of year. Reach out if you need to, and do what you need to do to keep yourself safe and well.

So, whilst I hope that everyone’s break is filled with relaxation (ignoring any summatives or dissertation work) and fun, if you’re finding it difficult, I hope the holiday goes by quickly and I’ll see you all again soon!
