The Durham Women in Politics Society (WIPS) is a welcoming community committed to providing comprehensive support for female students interested in politics. It aims to create a space where women can connect, share interests, and access opportunities that help level the playing field. Opportunities available to members range from fun socials to career-focused events, such as CV workshops and speaker talks. Members also receive a weekly newsletter featuring world news, career opportunities and society updates. Our flagship opportunity is the Westminster trip, which runs twice a year exclusively for members. In previous trips, we have visited Parliament, the Foreign Office, Chatham House, and the Home Office, giving members the chance to network with MPs, peers, and senior women in politics.
