Description

The International Law Society was created to provide support and a community to law students wishing to practise abroad.  We welcome students of all backgrounds.

Ultimately, our goal is to make international law practice more accessible and equip our members with the network, skills, and knowledge necessary to excel in their future careers.

Our events and activities can be categorised as follows:

1. Advocacy skill development: we hope to organise and host a multitude of events that include but are not limited to moots, negotiation competitions, mock trials, and essay competitions. Outside of competitions, we will organise skill sessions to help our members hone their legal writing and other such skills. We endeavour to foster a positive learning environment for both beginners and experienced students.

2. Future careers: we are developing strong links with international law firms abroad and with other organisations to provide a solid network for our members to tap into during their studies and post-graduation. Our events will include open days and networking sessions. Outside of networking-centric events, we can help advise members on qualification and practise in their selected international region.  Additionally, our mentorship scheme can help support members by pairing them up with a mentor that work in their desired area.

3. Social: social events provide members with the exciting opportunity to form international connections with members, legal professionals and experts. Social events may include pub crawls, mixers, dinners and balls.
