First Aid

Description

We are one of the University’s most important student groups and meet  on Thursday at 7:30pm to learn first aid! Throughout each term we cover a huge range of different subjects including resuscitation, broken bones, and medical emergencies such as strokes and seizures. No prior knowledge is required and everyone is always welcome. Alongside this, we run socials and a meal at the end of each term.

On top of the weekly meetings, we also function as a student St John Ambulance volunteer unit, which is open to all of our society members. Through this we provide first aid cover with exclusive access at a huge range of university events including college balls, fashion shows and sporting events alongside offering the opportunity to venture to large events across the country such as football matches and festivals. Volunteering provides the opportunity to meet a huge range of people alongside using your first aid skills to have a huge impact on those around you (alongside having fun!). All training is provided for free.

If you have any queries about getting involved with the society or about first aid cover at your event, you can get in touch at: links.society@durham.ac.uk. Also, be sure to check out our Facebook page!
