Description

Founded in October 2014, Durham DJ Society's goal is to represent and promote student DJs across Durham's music and events scene.

More specifically, we aim to:

  • Offer an inclusive and non-judgemental space for people to learn the many forms of electronic performance.
  • Create a community for like-minded music enthusiasts to share and discuss music.
  • Build a network of contacts and foster collaboration between members.
  • Encourage and assist members in creating novel musical experiences across Durham.
  • Run our own events to give members the chance to perform in front of a receptive audience.
  • Represent electronic performance in its many forms, and work to build a culture of creative freedom for DJs in Durham.
  • Provide affordable access to professional-grade DJ equipment, to maximise the inclusivity of the Durham DJ scene.
  • Promote members' services to external entities like clubs and events organisers.
