Description

The Classic Film Society aims to educate people on the history of cinema and preserve classic films in popular culture by showing a classic film every week, followed by an open discussion on both techniques used by the filmmaker as well as how the film portrays certain themes. We are inclusive and are welcoming to people with any amount of prior knowledge, so if you’ve never seen a classic film or are wanting to re-examine something you've already seen, feel free to come along. By having seasons on films, we hope to provide more insight into a particular area of film, though each showing is separate and does not require attendance to previous events. We hope to show something for everyone, so we also show films that are relevant to current events as films don’t only reflect culture, but can influence it as well.
