Description

The Durham University Brazilian Society is a student-led organization that aims to promote and celebrate Brazilian culture and heritage on campus, while also providing a home-away-from-home for Brazilian students in Durham. We aim to connect students with opportunities related to Brazil, as well as host events such as music and dance workshops, traditional food nights, and cultural trips, as well as providing a social platform for students to connect and share their interests. We aim to not only focus on promoting and celebrating Brazilian culture and heritage, but also to give back to the community in Brazil through volunteering and charitable activities. We will work closely with NGOs and other organizations to identify opportunities for students to get involved in volunteering projects that support underprivileged communities in Brazil. These projects could range from education and community development to environmental conservation and sustainability efforts. We believe that these experiences not only help to make a positive impact in Brazil, but also provide students with the chance to gain valuable skills and insights, while also building a deeper appreciation for the country and its people.
