Welcome to Durham’s Balkan Society! We are a vibrant cultural hub for anyone who identifies with, is interested in, or simply loves the diverse cultures of Southeast Europe. We celebrate the rich traditions, languages, music, cuisine, and history of countries including Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia. Whether you're from the region, have Balkan roots, or are just curious to learn more, we host a range of events throughout the year – from traditional food nights and live music socials to language exchanges, film screenings, and collaborations with other cultural societies.
