Description

Asia Forum: Politics & International Relations Society provides a platform for dialogue, research, and collaboration on contemporary political and international issues across East, Southeast, South, and West Asia.  We believe in equal opportunity and aim to be the first platform at Durham where students can engage with career opportunities in politics and International relations. Our goal is to achieve: Network, Navigate, Empower.

We aim to challenge Western-centric narratives and amplify Asian youth voices in discussions about diplomacy, geopolitics and regional affairs. Through speaker panels, academic debates, and career events, the Forum connects students with policymakers, academics, and professionals working in Asian politics and international relations. Hosting social events for members to network with people outside of the university, ensuring that no one feels like they have to navigate their ambitions alone. In this society we create equal opportunities for members to engage, involve and influence each other.

Open to all, Asia Forum fosters cross-cultural understanding and critical engagement with Asia’s role in the global order.Whether you are pursuing a career in politics, diplomacy, policy-making, research or beyond, APIR is here to help you connect, grow, thrive in a world where opportunities should be or everyone.
