Durham University Rock Society organises regular events aimed for fans of Rock, Metal and Alternative music. We hold a range of events, which range from bar crawls, to gigs and to nights out in Newcastle. The society also promotes local and student bands, assists members who are interested in joining bands, and hosts gigs at local venues featuring student bands.
The Aims of Durham University Rock Society shall be to improve the accessibility of rock, metal, and alternative (and their sub-genres) events in Durham and the surrounding areas, to organise and run its own events such as, where possible, a weekly social to connect people with similar interests within the society and to support, augment, and connect with existing provisions present within Durham University. Additionally Durham University Rock Society aims to improve and promote inclusivity within both Durham University students and the local rock, metal and alternative community.
