Be entered into a draw to win a week’s free rent by rating your landlord!

Whether your landlord was amazing, difficult, or somewhere in between, your review could help future Durham students make better housing choices, and yes, college accommodation counts too!

Rate Your Landlord is a Tripadvisor-style platform where students can leave honest reviews about their accommodation experiences in Durham.

Leave a quick review between Friday 29 May and Sunday 14 June 2026 to be entered into a prize draw to win £200, the equivalent of one week’s average student rent in Durham.
 

Competition Terms and Conditions: 

At their discretion, each partner or supporter may run participation incentives for reviews submitted by students at their university/educational institution, within specified dates, as published on their Students’ Union website. Unipol Student Homes will randomly select the winner/s and will share the following personal data with your university in relation to the winners and/or runners-up of the participation incentives.

This data is shared so the partner or supporter can deliver the winners' prizes. It will be transferred via secure spreadsheet, and processed by the partner or supporter for the purpose of awarding incentives. The partner or supporter becomes the data controller of this data once it is received and will process it in line with their data protection policy for the purposes above.

1. The participation incentives are open to all students of Durham University aged 18 years or over, except employees of Unipol Student Homes.
2. To enter the prize draw, entrants must submit a review of a property they have rented while studying at the relevant educational institution. Only one review per person is permitted for an academic year.
3. The winner will be selected at random from all valid entries received by the closing date and will be notified by the relevant partner or supporter.
4. If the winner does not respond within 14 days of being notified, Unipol reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
5. The promoter's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the prize draw and these terms and conditions without notice.
6. By submitting a review during participation incentives, reviewers agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

 

Review Moderation

• All reviews submitted to the platform are subject to moderation prior to publication.
• During moderation, we may identify information that requires clarification or correction, including (but not limited to) incorrectly selected property addresses or incomplete or inaccurate landlord details.
• Where necessary, we will contact the reviewer via email to request further information or confirmation. Reviews may be amended accordingly before publication.
• If a reviewer does not respond to requests for clarification within a reasonable timeframe, the review may be rejected. In such cases, the reviewer will be notified and may submit a revised review.
• Reviews that are rejected will not be considered as part of any selection process, including but not limited to competitions, awards, or winner determinations
