Description

DUTT is the UK's oldest continuously running LARP (Live Action Role-Play) group. Join us to take part in theatre without a script or audience; play a character within an imaginary world that we all create. Treasure Trap's world has its roots in medieval fantasy fiction (think Terry Pratchett or the Lord of the Rings). Enter Durholme, a city of tall towers, dark alleys, scoundrels, brigands, action, adventure, deceit, betrayal, romance, assassination, and perhaps a few nice guys too. Become a knight, beggar, thief, priest, wizard, bard… anything you can think of! You can play a hero, a villain, a misguided idealist or someone just trying to get by. The choice is totally up to you. Every week we run a tavern night and an adventure.

Tavern nights (also called Interactives) are indoor events which are run from 7 to 10:30pm on Monday nights at the DSU Vane Tempest room. Adventures are run on Saturdays, meeting at 10am outside the DSU to leave at around 10:45. This year, Tavern Nights are starting on the 11th of October, and the first Adventure will be on the 9th of October.

This year we will also be holding a Chat and Stat event, 7 to 10:30pm in Vane Tempest on the 4th of October, to help new players make their first character - so don't worry if you find it overwhelming, we're here to help! The first Adventure of the year, on the 9th of October, will be the Freshers Adventure, where all new players will be able to take their new characters on their first excursion!

We aim:

  • To run a mediaeval fantasy live roleplay system ("the Game") for its members.
  • To hold regular adventures and interactive events using this system.
  • To maintain a stock of equipment for use in the Game ("the Armoury").
  • To run appropriate traditional eating and drinking events.
  • To help its members gain skills related to the Game, including weapons skills.
