One of the most popular and established student societies in Durham, we are committed to providing a wide range of events for Durham’s literature lovers, whether you are English students or simply have a passion for language and great literary works.
- To widen the literary experience of book lovers whether or not they study english
- To create an educative environment outside of the degree
- To establish further educational talks and theatre trips as a back ground for students studying English.
- To provide a support (mentor scheme) network for freshers who study English.
- To allow an environment first students to discuss literature and film not covered in the curriculum.
- To create opportunities for those who do not study English to become engaged with literature.
- To establish a link with the English faculty regarding events and talks.
