Purpose of the role:

The Belonging Fund is an initiative from Durham University’s Access and Participation Plan. This is an £85,000 per year fund which aims to increase student belonging through student led initiatives, activities, and events. Applications can be up to £5,000 – or for very large projects, £10,000.

To ensure that students are at the heart of decision making and driving change across the University, we are hiring six panel members to provide recommendations and decisions on applications to the Belonging Fund to the staff panel.

You can read more about the Belonging Fund here, and you can read Durham University’s Access and Participation Plan here.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To collaborate effectively with other students to drive long-term change across the University
  • To read and consider applications to the Belonging Fund in advance of panel meetings
