| Articles of Association |
The articles of association (PDF) were adopted on 16 January 2015. The Articles are Durham SU’s foundation document and describe how Durham Students' Union's Assembly and democratic bodies are governed. |
| Standing Orders |
The Standing Orders are created jointly by the Board of Trustees and Assembly, using powers under Article 57, and describe how we manage things, day-to-day. The Articles take precedence over the Standing Orders. (Last updated: 23 September 2025) |
| Modern Slavery Statement |
The Modern Slavery Statement will support Durham SU’s partners, who often request sight of our policy position. Ultimately, this statement frames thinking and action, which will contribute to addressing unacceptable modern slavery practices. |
| Code of Conduct |
We have a Code of Conduct so that we’re clear about the standards of behaviour we’ve decided we want to encourage and support in order to be a welcoming, respectful, organisation. |
| Student Consultation Framework |
The Student Consultation Framework is a document that sets out minimum standards of consultation that should occur when decisions are being made that will impact on the lives of students. The initial framework was developed by four consecutive Students’ Union Presidents since 2015, with the help of JCR/MCR Presidents’ Committees, and was passed by the University Executive Committee in the summer of 2018. A refresh of the framework was carried out in 2022-23, and passed by the University Executive Committee in July 2023. |
