About Us

The Durham University Physics Society is a society created by and for physics students and we want to make sure that you get the most that you possibly can out of your time at Durham. Membership is free: join us for as much or as little Physics as you'd like!

Throughout the year we will be holding socials for everyone to get to know each other in a relaxed and safe environment. These are wonderful opportunities to interact with budding physicists from other colleges and even other years! Socials also provide much needed relaxation and down time for all of the hard work that a physics degree involves.

We hold weekly talks from physicists from both within the department and elsewhere to introduce you to physics in the real world and how it is changing everyday.

Last but not least, we run a trip to CERN! Signups tend to open in the first term of the year, so look out for this and much more on Instagram! (@du_physics_society)
