About Us

The Durham Islamic Studies Society (DISS) is dedicated to fostering the study of Islam from an academic perspective. Open to students of all backgrounds and levels of knowledge, the society provides a welcoming space to study Islamic thought, history, culture, and contemporary issues. We host regular lectures and discussion circles for both the passionately engaged and the simply curious.

Terms and Conditions

By purchasing a membership to this group you agree to:

  • comply with the terms of this Constitution, the Student Group Agreement and all relevant Durham SU or Durham University regulations, rules and codes of practice which can be found on the Durham SU and Durham University websites, and
  • act in the best interests of the Student Group and Durham SU and uphold the Student Group's Aims and the objects of Durham SU.
