About Us

Durham University Buddhist Society is a community for students and staff who follow any tradition of Buddhism, or simply have an interest in Buddhism or spirituality. We currently meet on Thursdays at 7-8pm in term time to enjoy guided or silent meditation together, readings and discussion over a cup of tea, and to learn about the very diverse set of traditions that are grouped together as 'Buddhism'. Dr Robert Bluck (Buddhist Chaplain) leads our meetings approximately once per month. We also host other get-togethers, including meals, walking meditation, visits to nearby monasteries, and collaborations with other societies. No prior experience of Buddhism or meditation is necessary and no commitment is required, but to receive regular updates feel free to become a member of the society or follow our social media: https://www.facebook.com/dubudsoc https://www.instagram.com/dubudsoc/
