Plant Based Society

Welcome to Plant-Based Durham! Our goal: Making catering fully plant based. Why? It's a concrete project. It lowers emissions at Durham uni. It's more ethical. We hope to make this a big movement this year, and for this, we want the students to be on our side, whether left or right, sciences or humanities, vegetarian/vegan or not- the only enemy is bad food. Our activities: Socials- make a group a community. Work with SU- they have power to make changes. Outreach- spread the message, grow the movement. Plans- help implement any changes we secure. Context: Plant-Based Universities is a Europe wide movement, with active campaigns in 60 universities and dozens of successes. We are relaunching this year off the back of a Europe camp, hosted in Germany (there'll probably be one next year as well), where we learnt how to campaign effectively.
