About Us
Whether you're vegetarian, vegan, or an omnivore who would love to learn more about the vegan/vegetarian lifestyle you are more than welcome to join our society!
As a member of the society, you can take part in our fun socials such as bar crawls, café visits or even the occasional food and wine session. There will also be the opportunity to do some activism, in particular this year with the Plant-Based University Campaign group. Please note there is no pressure to take part in any of the events, but everyone is welcome to contribute with what they feel they are able to do.
Our aims and objectives for the society are:
To provide information regarding a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle
To have a place where people who are already vegan/vegetarian can meet other vegans/vegetarians and where they can exchange views and opinions, as well as challenges they are facing.
To advocate for increased availability of vegan/vegetarian alternatives in both college dining halls and restaurants in Durham
To show how a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle connects to other causes, such as environmentalism and healthier lifestyles
To have fun and socialise with other vegetarians/vegans
