Biological Science

Durham Biological Sciences Society (BioSoc) is the student-led society for anyone interested in the biosciences at Durham, bringing together students across Biology, Biochemistry, Natural Sciences, postgraduate study and beyond.

Our aim is to help students feel more connected to the wider Biosciences community and make the most of the opportunities available to them. We share research,  departmental opportunities, competitions and events, while also developing a stronger careers focus through talks, speakers, panels and careers-focused events exploring where a Biosciences degree can take you.

Our connection to the wider biosciences community extends beyond Durham too, with BioSoc supported by the Royal Society of Biology, giving us access to further resources, opportunities and connections.

By becoming a BioSoc member, you are helping support the events and opportunities we run throughout the year, while also gaining access to member-only opportunities, our members-only WhatsApp groupchat, and priority and discounted access to selected events such as the Biology Ball.
