DUSAGG Freshers' Camp will be held on the weekend of 23rd - 25th October at 1st Burnmoor Scouts HQ (///dress.flying.planet), a fairly local scout hut, that has lots of facilities on site. We will be doing climbing, archery, campfires, a bit of site service and much more - it's a great opportunity to get to know other current and former Scouts and Guides, or see some friendly faces!
There is both the option to camp outside, or sleep inside on the scout hut floor, if you need to borrow anything (e.g. sleeping bag, roll mat, large rucksack) let us know on the camp form. You can choose to sleep inside/outside closer to the camp.
The cost of the camp is £35. This covers the cost of the site, food and activities. Please ensure you complete the camp form (DUSAGG Freshers' Camp 2026 Sign Up – Fill in form) if you have not already. For insurance reasons, you will need to be a member of DUSAGG to come on camp. If you don't already have one, these can be purchased through the SU website here: https://www.durhamsu.com/groups/studentgroup/7218/. You will get a free necker and name tape for paying membership!
We will be meeting at the SU building on the Friday evening to get the bus up (some kit may be able to be transported in exec members vehicles depending on numbers attending), and returning Sunday afternoon. If this doesn't work for you, that's absolutely fine, but you will probably have to make your own way to and from 1st Burnmoor. Make sure to let us know on the camp form when you plan to be there.
Sign-ups close at 1200 on Friday 16th October; further details will be emailed out after this date.
