Durham SU exists for a purpose: We’re the champion of every Durham student. We’re interested in the things that matter to them. We stand up for their rights. We bring them together. We celebrate their success.
These are testing times; a global pandemic that impacts all facets of life, changing technologies and the political and economic uncertainly all need navigating by the Trustee Board. We need a diverse mix of people, with the right skills, networks and ideas to inspire and challenge the organisation to be ever more successful now and in the future.
Students’ Unions have the potential to play an incredibly important role in students’ time at University. As a member of the board you will help set the strategy of the organisation, oversee our finances and ensure we achieve our charitable aims, a high performing Trustee Board is essential for our success. We are looking to appoint two new Lay Trustees on to our Board and welcome applicants from any professional background. There is no need to have trustee experience to apply, but a keen desire to support our work is essential. We are looking to attract as much interest as possible but applicants with a background in finance and accounting would be very interesting to us (formal qualifications not required). Women and BAME candidates are of particular interest to us, as we seek to make our Trustee Board more reflective of the demographics and experiences of our students.
If you would like to help shape the future of the student experience at Durham University and require further details on how to apply, please see our Recruitment Pack
* Closing date for applications is 28 May 2021.
