Durham SU equipment is only available for hire by ratified student groups. Whilst the Students’ Union will try to honour all equipment bookings, we will not be held responsible for equipment which is not available due to another student group not returning it on time.
Items cannot normally be hired for longer than 48 hours. If there is a special reason for this please contact reception who will advise.
Should equipment be returned late, the Students’ Union reserves the right to charge a student group £10 a day until it is returned to the Union.
Items will be checked by reception when returned; any issues will be noted and reported via email to the Student Activities Manager immediately.
The equipment is covered by the Students’ Union’s insurance. This includes an excess of £100 and therefore should equipment be damaged by a student group, the Union reserves the right to charge the student group for the repair or replacement of the item up to £100.
Should equipment be damaged by a student group, the Union reserves the right to refuse the student group the right to hire equipment for the remainder of the academic year.
