How should the money from the UCU strike be spent?

After the UCU strike action earlier this year, the docked pay of striking staff was placed in a fund to be used ‘directly for student benefit’. There’s a lot of money in this pot – a total of £679,000 in wages was withheld as a consequence of staff participation in the strikes. You can read more about the money in this Palatinate article.

The University have already indicated that £179,000 will be allocated towards the student hardship fund, but there is £350,000 to be allocated to spend this year. We are interested in knowing how else students would like the money to be spent. Once complete, these results will be presented to the University so that we can work with them to allocate funds in a way that will be most beneficial to students.
