Description

Durham University Natural Sciences Society, a.k.a. NatSciSoc, is a student-led organisation that provides a social, academic, and professional platform for NatSci students and anyone else with an interest in science!

We know how challenging it can be to meet scientists with similar interests and/or modules, especially as a NatSci student belonging to multiple departments. NatSciSoc aims to connect scientists and science enthusiasts from different colleges, years, and fields by hosting regular socials throughout the year. These will include bar crawls, movie nights, meals out, the NatSci ball, and much more!

NatSciSoc members will also have the opportunity to become part of a NatSci family, where they will meet students undergoing similar NatSci streams and receive academic advice and support from older years.

We will host and advertise inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary scientific talks from leading scientists at Durham University, as well as from external speakers, to show how modern science is crossing traditional field boundaries. In addition to this, NatSciSoc will help to promote career opportunities for NatSci students by hosting careers talks and inviting employers to meet with NatSci students to allow them to advertise internship and graduate positions directly.
