I am a local second-year PhD student from St Johns College studying how higher education policies impact on student mental health. I have studied at Durham since 2013 and am passionate about student mental health!


Relevant experience

I have experience working for mental health charities as an employee and at advisory board level. I am a student advisor on the Student Minds Student Advisory Committee and Charlie Waller Trust Universities and Colleges Advisory Board.

  • I have first-hand leadership and governance experience as previous store manager of Subway Newgate Street and as co-chair of the Student Mental Health Research Network PhD lab group.

  • I have a strong knowledge and understanding of higher education systems and structure from my BA and MA degrees in education studies and my seven years studying at Durham University.

  • I have developed my reasoning and communication skills as a postgraduate researcher and teaching assistant at Durham University.

  • I have demonstrated reliability and commitment to voluntary activity through years of volunteering for Samaritans, Action for Happiness, and the If U Care Share Foundation.
