I am a first-year international student reading history at South. I am running for trustee because I am eager to help ensure the quality of the service delivered by the DSU to us students of Durham. I strongly believe that my experience, knowledge, attributes and values would me make the perfect candidate for the position.
I came from an audit family background and had volunteered in the Mother's Choice Youth Leadership Council in securing rights for young mothers and infants.
I fully understand and accept the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship, and am aware of the Durham SU's goals and ambition in fighting and securing rights for the students of Durham.
Firstly, I am excellent in working with others as I had been a member of the School Choir and Rugby team for 6 years.
Secondly, I have critical and analytical thinking skills as I co-founded the History Olympiad team of my school and have successfully led my team to the Asian Championship in the founding year.
Thirdly, I have objective and reasonable judgement skills as I had overseen the financial and external relations procedure of student-organized events back at school.
Fourthly, I am reliable and responsible as I was the Chief designer of my school's biannual magazine, Notrigmarole, who is responsible for overseeing the production and publication procedures.
Last but not least, I am conscientious and diligent as I also held administrative positions (financial and logistics) as a Division Head in the Prefects' Board back at school.
I stand for equal rights and value of say for everybody. I greatly value honesty and transparency. I prioritize the rights of students. I acknowledge and accept the Seven Principles of Public Life.
