We have our course reps!

Within the first weeks of term, the Students’ Union and Durham University worked together to promote the opportunities for all undergraduate students to be able to run and nominate themselves to become the Course Rep for their course. Training for those reps who have been elected to positions is now underway, and we're really thrilled with the skills and enthusiasm our new reps will bring to their roles.

A huge thank you to all 332 candidates for standing to become a course rep and to all 2367 (18.3%) students that voted for their rep. Any feedback on the process of the course rep elections is welcome and can be sent to the Academic Affairs Officer Lisa Whiting at dsu.academic@durham.ac.uk

Course reps are one of Lisa's top priorities for this year. She says of the election, “I am very happy with how the elections ran this year. It’s so important we have a vibrant course representative system so students’ academic interests are represented. Thank you to everyone who got involved and a big congratulations to those who were elected. I’m very excited to work with you this year.”

There were some position not filled during the election, For anybody who currently does not have a rep, academic staff will be holding in-class elections so please consider running for the role to ensure that you and your peers get the best academic experience possible.

You can find your Course Rep here.
